Overview

The Nar Phu Valley Trek begins with a drive from Besisahar to Dharapani, followed by a trek to Koto, where we leave the Annapurna Circuit Trail to head into the off-the-beaten-path Nar Phu Valley. From Koto, the trek continues to Meta and then to Phu, where we spend two nights exploring this pristine village and taking an excursion to Himlung Base Camp.

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and attend an evening briefing to prepare for the Nar Phu Valley & Kang La Pass Trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02 :

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing (1,400m)

Explore the cultural and historical highlights of Kathmandu Valley, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Patan Durbar Square. Prepare for the upcoming Nar Phu Valley trek in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03 :

Drive to Besisahar (760m) and Jeep to Dharapani (1,860m)

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, then continue by jeep along scenic mountain roads to Dharapani. Enjoy views of waterfalls, terraced fields, and local villages along the route. Overnight camping or lodge in Dharapani.

Day 04 :

Trek from Dharapani (1,860m) to Koto (2,600m)

Begin the trek along the Marsyangdi River, passing lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Arrive at Koto, a small settlement that marks the gateway to the off-the-beaten-path Nar Phu Valley. Overnight camping or lodge in Koto.

Day 05 :

Trek from Koto (2,600m) to Meta (3,560m)

Trek through high-altitude valleys, crossing rivers and yak pastures. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Arrive at Meta, a remote village offering a glimpse into traditional Himalayan life. Overnight camping or lodge in Meta.

Day 06 :

Trek from Meta (3,560m) to Phu Village (4,080m)

Ascend through alpine valleys and rugged trails to reach Phu Village, an untouched settlement with traditional Tibetan culture. Explore the village and enjoy panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Overnight camping or lodge in Phu.

Day 07 :

Acclimatization Day in Phu Village (4,080m)

Spend the day exploring Phu Village and its ancient monasteries. Take a short excursion to Himlung Base Camp to admire the surrounding Himalayan peaks while acclimatizing to the high altitude. Overnight in Phu.

Day 08 :

Trek from Phu Village (4,080m) to Nar Phedi (3,490m)

Descend through scenic valleys and remote trails, passing yak pastures and traditional settlements. Arrive at Nar Phedi, a quiet village with Tibetan-influenced culture and serene Himalayan views. Overnight camping or lodge in Nar Phedi.

Day 09 :

Trek from Nar Phedi (3,490m) to Nar Village (4,150m)

Ascend through high-altitude valleys and rugged trails, passing traditional Tibetan settlements. Arrive at Nar Village, a culturally rich and remote village in the Nar Phu Valley. Overnight camping or lodge in Nar.

Day 10 :

Trek from Nar Village (4,150m) to Ngawal (3,660m) via Kang La Pass (5,320m)

Cross the challenging Kang La Pass, enjoying panoramic Himalayan views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges. Descend to Ngawal, a peaceful village with stunning mountain vistas. Overnight camping or lodge in Ngawal.

Day 11 :

Trek from Ngawal (3,660m) to Manang (3,540m)

Trek through alpine valleys, passing yak pastures and small settlements. Arrive at Manang, a key village on the Annapurna Circuit, known for its stunning mountain views and Tibetan-influenced culture. Overnight in Manang.

Day 12 :

Trek from Manang (3,540m) to Yak Kharka (4,050m)

Ascend through alpine meadows and yak pastures, enjoying panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Arrive at Yak Kharka, a serene settlement ideal for acclimatization and experiencing traditional Himalayan life. Overnight camping or lodge in Yak Kharka.

Day 13 :

Trek from Yak Kharka (4,050m) to Thorong High Camp (4,925m)

Ascend through rugged alpine terrain, passing yak pastures and high mountain ridges. Reach Thorong High Camp, the base for crossing Thorong La Pass, with panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Overnight camping at High Camp.

Day 14 :

Trek from Thorong High Camp (4,925m) via Thorong La Pass (5,416m) to Muktinath (3,760m) and Jomsom (2,720m)

Start early to cross the Thorong La Pass (5,416m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. Descend to Muktinath, a sacred site with temples and hot springs, then continue to Jomsom, the gateway of the Mustang region. Enjoy stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges along the way. Overnight in Jomsom.

Day 15 :

Flight from Jomsom (2,720m) to Pokhara (822m)

Take a scenic morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax after the trek. Spend the evening exploring Phewa Lake or enjoying the lakeside views. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 16 :

Departure from Kathmandu

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Conclude your Nar Phu Valley & Kang La Pass Trek with unforgettable memories of remote Himalayan landscapes, traditional Tibetan culture, and breathtaking mountain vistas.
